Victorian Lady's 12K Gold Filled Round Chain Necklace for Watch, Lorgnette, Muff, or Locket. Made around 1905, this long round link watch chain has a diamond shaped slide, measuring 13.34mm X 9.4mm X 5mm. The top of the slide is set with nine opal cabochons. The oval link chain is 50 inches long (including the clasp) and is finished with a balloon clasp to hold a pendant watch, lorgnette, muff or locket. Antique guard chains like this are also excellent doubled and worn with your favorite pendant or amulet.
In Very Good Vintage Condition, with expected surface wear. The slide moves and stays where placed, indicating the cork is in good condition.
ERA: Victorian, 1900
METAL/MATERIALS: 1/10 12K Gold Filled and Natural Opals
HALLMARKS/HISTORY: 1/10 and A&Z C Co on clasp for A & Z Chain Company of Providence, RI, which was founded in 1905.
CONDITION: In very good vintage condition, with minor surface wear. The slide cork seems to be in good condition, as the slide will move and stay where placed.
MEASUREMENTS: Chain is 50" long, including the clasp. It is 2.1mm in diameter. The slide measures 13.34mm X 9.4mm X 5mm.
WEIGHT: 17 grams total weight
