Art Deco Sterling Silver Rock Crystal Quartz Amethyst and Marcasite Bar Pin. A center rectangular scissor cut rock crystal quarts is flanked by two square scissor cut amethysts, all set in a milgrain bezel. The frame of the piece is all angled openwork with marcasite accents. The design incorporates elements of the late Edwardian and early Art Deco eras, leading me to date it around 1925. It is finished with a safety pin clasp, common in German jewelry of that era. Marked Sterling and Germany on reverse. This beautiful brooch is in immaculate condition and seems to have been very seldom worn.
