Engraved Oval Locket Sterling Silver - B.A. Ballou Flower Scroll Engraved Pendant Necklace - Sweetheart Romantic Gift - Vintage Jewelry
Vintage Sterling Silver Engraved Oval Locket Necklace. Made by B.A. Ballou about 1970, this pretty oval locket has all-over floral and scroll engraving, with a striped beveled edge. Suspended from an 18" sterling rope chain. Both pieces are marked Sterling and have Ballou maker's marks. In Excellent vintage condition, the necklace seems to have been worn very little.

METAL/MATERIALS: Sterling Silver
HALLMARKS/HISTORY: The locket is stamped Sterling with the B in Star mark and the chain has a tag reading B.A.B. Sterling. Both are marks of the BA Ballou, chic operated in Providence RI from 1876 until 2000.
MEASUREMENTS: Chain measures 18" long; Locket measures 1 5/8" long (including bale) by 15/16" wide
CONDITION: Very Good Vintage Condition with no damage noted.

I'm overwhelmed with emotion and gratitude! My father gave my mother a locket *exactly* like this one and my mother gave it to me before she passed. My sister always admired this locket, so I wanted to give her an exact replica for her 50th birthday. I couldn't believe my good fortune to find this locket here on Etsy (Ballou, the company who made these, is no longer in business). The locket was shipped out quickly and with care. It arrived in mint condition (better condition than my original!!). See attached pic for comparison of the lockets. I feel like it was Heaven sent from my parents!!! Jeanne was super responsive and sweet. "Heirloom Finds" is the perfect name for this shop. I will most definitely shop here again. Jeanne, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
