Pair of Victorian Wedding Bangles in Gold Filled with Black Enamel. In the Victorian era, bracelets were a customary gift from a man to his betrothed. One bracelet was presented at the engagement and the matching bracelet at the wedding. This pair features plaques with engraved floral detail and decorative finials, with tube bypass construction of black enameled metal.
This pair seems to have been well-loved and the black enamel has suffered from time. However, I believe you could remove the remaining black enamel and polish the bracelets to create a beautiful pair. The hinge mechanisms in both bracelets remain strong and the bracelets are very wearable.
