Vintage Southwestern Squash Blossom Necklace. This substantial necklace features ten blossoms and a naja set with seven turquoise cabochons. The turquoise is all brilliant blue with pyrite inclusions. All stones are set in rope twist bezels. The beaded necklace is strung on coated foxtail and finished with a hook and eye closure.
The naja measures approximately 2 1/2 inches X 2 1/2 inches. The necklace has an overall length of 26 inches. The handmade bench beads are approximately 8.5 mm in diameter.
There is no hallmark or silversmith’s mark, but the necklace tests as sterling silver. Bought in the 1960s on a trip to Colorado, the necklace was not new when purchased.
In very good vintage condition, with no damage of any sort noted.
