Man's Victorian 10K Yellow Gold Black Onyx Signet Ring. Patented in 1885, lovely antique ring features an Old English S applied to black onyx atop a ring with scrolled and engraved shoulders.
The ring is a size 9 1/2 and weighs 3.5 grams total. The ring has been worn and loved. The bezel at one end of the stone has worn off, but this does not endanger the setting, as both the stone and the applied S are bolted to the ring itself.
ERA: Victorian, 1880s
METAL/MATERIALS: 10 Karat Yellow Gold and Black Onyx
HALLMARK: Pat. Sep. '85 (for 1885). The ring is not marked for metal content, but tests as 10K.
MEASUREMENTS: Ring is 16.4 mm wide at head, tapering to 3.4 mm at reverse of ring
RING SIZE: 95
WEIGHT: 3.5 grams
CONDITION: Good vintage condition. The bezel is missing on one end, and there is some surface wear, consistent with age. Minor shipping to the underside of the exposed edge.
