Antique 10K Gold Bird and Flower Engraved Wedding Band. Made about 1900, this beautiful wide cigar band ring is engraved with a repeating pattern of birds and flowering branches. The Victorians loved symbolism and swallow (likely the birds here) represented faithfulness as they always return home. The flowers may represent forget-me-nots, which symbolize true love. The ring is hand engraved on the inside EM in script.
The ring bears the maker's mark of R.J. Wood and Sons. It is not marked for karat, but tests as 10K.

HALLMARKS/HISTORY: Stamped with the sideways W and XXX of J.R. Wood and Sons. Wood and Sons opened in Brooklyn, NY in 1850.
