Golden Bug Brooch with Honey Yellow Crystals in Vermeil. From the golden age of Hollywood, when Bette Davis and her peers rocked huge baubles onscreen and off, we bring you this treasure. This over sized pin takes the form of a winged insect and has one large emerald cut golden topaz colored glass stone measuring approximately 20 x 25 mm and one oval faceted crystal in the same color measuring approximately 10.5 x 13.5 mm. The crystal bug is completed with ridge wings and tail feather, four legs and a pair of antennae. The overall sze of this fantasy flyer is 2 1/3 inches long and 2 1/4 inches wide.
The piece is finished with a double-pronged hinged mechanism on the reverse, indicating this was originally a fur clip. However, it would work wonderfully as a pin on a coat or heavy scarf or shawl.
