Vintage Zuni Turquoise and Shell Mosaic Inlay Knife Wing Cuff Bracelet of Sterling Silver by Lolita Natachu. This gorgeous bracelet was made in the early 1970s by Zuni artist Lolita Natachu, and because she typically worked with her husband Fred, he was likely a collaborator.
The 1 1/2" wide cuff is made of two layers of sterling silver sheet. The underlayer is solid and the upper layer has designs cut in it which were then set with piece of turquoise, calm shell, brown shell and coral, all cut and buffed to fit in the inlaid mosaic pattern. This is a masterfully crafted piece of Native American Jewelry.
The bracelet was obtained from the stock of a trading post store that closed in the 1980s, but this is an earlier piece, dating from the 1970s. It is marked simply LN and acid tests as sterling silver. The bracelet weighs 83 grams.
