These vintage enamel and copper earrings are a great look for fall. Made by Renoir as part of the Matisse collection, they date from the 1950s. They are an unusual design and are the only piece ever made by the company that utilizes this particular enameling technique.
The domed oval cabs have metallic gold and orange backgrounds, with black lines and translucent raised golden yellow dots. The resulting texture of the enamel is striking and was never used on other Matisse pieces.
The earrings are approximately 1 1/4 inch long and are 3/4 inch wide. The clips on the back are marked both Matisse and Renoir. In Very Good Vintage Condition with no damage noted.
