Art Deco EAM Elgin American Compact Silvertone with Green and Salmon Enamel Pendant Vanity Makeup Necessaire with Wrist Chain
If you love the curves and geometry of Art Deco design, this shield-shaped compact is perfect for you! This enamel decorated makeup necessaire was made in the late 1920s. Made of silvertone metal, the little minaudiere has curves accented in green and peach cold enamel. The compact is also decorated with embossing on the front and reverse.
The maker's mark of E-A-M in an arrow shaft is stamped on the interior at the clasp. This mark stands for Elgin American. The little compact is suspended from a 10 inch long chain handle.
Open the compact to reveal a compartment for powder (with sifter), a rouge pot, a mirror that surrounds the rouge pot and the original powder puff. The entire piece is in very good vintage condition, with very minor chipping to the enamel. The rouge pot has also come unglued, but we will leave that minor fix to the lucky new owner.
Measures approximately 2 3/4" tall, 2 1/4" wide and 3/8" thick.
