Vintage Gra-Wun Sterling Azurite Brooch. A great gift for the collector of Mid Century Modern! A raw slab of azurite is set with four curled arms of sterling silver. The ingenious design is reminiscent of a pinwheel. This elegant little brooch was made by Ray Graves of Scottsdale AZ in the 1950s. His pieces were always marked Gra-Wun, as this one is. The brooch measures 1 3/16" in diameter and is finished with an attached pin stem with roll over safety clasp. In very good vintage condition, with no damage of any sort noted.
ERA: Mid Century, 1960s
METAL/MATERIALS: 925 Sterling Silver and Azurite
HALLMARKS/HISTORY: Gra-Wun Handmade Sterling. This is the mark of Raymond Graves, an acclaimed mid century jewelry artist who incorporated modernist and Southwestern influences in his work.
CONDITION: In very good vintage condition, with the minor surface wear and patina expected with age. Previously owned and worn.
MEASUREMENTS: 1 3/16 inch in diameter
