Antique 14K Opal Garnet Ring. Made about 1880, this yellow gold ring features three round cabochon opals in a vertical array, each set with four claw prongs. The shoulders are accented with heavy scrolls and feature bezel set rhodolite garnets. The opals have a beautiful blue - green body color with flashes of orange. The ring is a size 7 and is in very good vintage condition with expected wear and patina and no damage noted.
ERA: Victorian, 1800s
METAL/MATERIALS: 14K yellow gold (tested)
STONE: Three round cabochons of natural opal. Combined total weight of .30 CT, as estimated by measurement. Two faceted round natural rhodolite garnets. Combined total weight of approximately .16 CT.
HALLMARK: Unmarked, but tested as 14K
CONDITION: Good vintage condition, with minor surface wear appropriate to age. Previously owned and worn.
MEASUREMENTS: Ring is 12 mm wide at front, 1.7 mm at reverse
RING SIZE: 7
WEIGHT: 2.1 grams in total

As a vintage jewelry lover, I’ve ordered several pieces from this shop, and each item has been lovely and in fantastic condition. This ring in particular though….wow…it’s special. It’s so cool to think this has been around since the guilded ages and I’m going to have fun imagining the stories of who has enjoyed it over the past 145 years. A beautiful piece of history in my birthstones. The condition is unreal - it’s clearly been well cared for. I love this treasure!!!
