Antique Lady's 10K Gold Filled Guard Chain. This simple muff or lorgnette chain dates from the late Victorian era. Chains like this were worn by women to hold a watch, lorgnette, fur muff, locket, or other pendant. If used with a watch, the very long chain would have been worn wrapped around a belt or tucked into a waistband, with the watch dangling.
The rolo chain is 56" long and is approximately 1.1 mm in diameter. It is finished with a dog clip swivel clasp. This chain is in Good Vintage Condition, with minor surface wear commensurate with age. This chain will be beautiful doubled, wrapped and worn with your favorite locket, fob, or watch!
ERA: Late Victorian, c1900

MEASUREMENTS: 56 inches long and 1.1 mm in diameter
