Antique Ostby Barton 10K Green Serpentine Ring. This simple elegant ring features a round cabochon of green serpentine set in a high solitaire mounting with six claw prongs. The ring is in good antique condition, with a lovely patina to the gold. The ring is marked OB 10K with Maltese Cross for Ostby Barton.

HALLMARKS/HISTORY: Marked OB 10K with Maltese Cross for Ostby Barton. The firm was founded in 1879 and continued operation in Providence Rhode Island through the 1920s. Ostby Barton is well known not only for their high quality jewelry, but because one of the founders, Englebart Ostby perished in the crash of the Titanic.
MEASUREMENTS: 6.6 mm wide at the head, with shank tapering to 1.8 mm at the reverse
WEIGHT: 1.5 grams
CONDITION: Good Vintage Condition, with a lovely patina to the gold. Previously owned and worn.
