Antique Saphiret Glass Gold Filled Cornucopia Watch Fob. This late Georgian or early Victorian antique watch chain fob takes the form of a cornucopia or powder horn with a round cabochon of saphiret glass in a rosy tone flower petal setting, as well as pink and blue glass prong-set glass stones forming a flower at the end of a twisted stem with silver leaves. Saphiret glass was produced in Czechoslovakia beginning in the mid 19th century. The beautiful color shifting glass contains gold, which produces the blue to rosy-brown color displays. The watch fob measures 1 3/8" X 3/4" X 3/8" and is suspended from a 3" replacement chain. This piece would be lovely worn as a pendant. In good antique condition with surface wear appropriate to age.
