Vintage Gold Filled Book Locket Necklace. Lockets are the perfect way to hold precious photos or tokens close to your heart. They make a wonderful romantic gift, but are also fun to collect and wear in layers! Made about 1930, this vintage book locket with floral engraving around a diamond cartouche that is decorated with a hand engraved initial that may be a lower case H or K. The reverse of the locket has ribbed decoration.
The locket measures 1/2 X 7/8 inch and is hinged at the left, opening like a book. The hinge works smoothly and the locket snaps securely shut. The locket is suspended from a 15 inch long 12K gold filled curb chain finished with a spring ring clasp. The locket is in good vintage condition, but does have some wear to corners and raised areas, consistent with the age of the piece.
