Antique Hayward GF Chained Dress Pin Set. At the turn of the 20th century, much clothing was made without buttons. Tiny connected pin sets like this were used instead. The pins would have been used on the upper back of the garment to close the open placket. The attached photo is taken from a 1920 jeweler's catalogue. Made by Hayward of Attleboro MA, the pins are in very good vintage condition with minor surface wear and no damage noted. Each little pin is finished with a C clasp.
