Antique Art Nouveau Gryphon Belt Buckle. The large oval buckle has an embossed design of gryphons, flowers, and leaves. It has two prongs on a rotating tube hinge. This would have been worn with a fabric belt sash in the late Victorian - Art Nouveau era. Made of gilt on brass, the buckle has a maker's mark on the reverse that I can't decipher. The buckle measures 2 9/16" X 3 5/8". In good vintage condition, with some minor bending and dark areas.
