Antique Middletown Silver Plate Spooner Sugar Bowl with Butterfly. This striking lidded spooner and sugar bowl topped with a three dimensional butterfly or moth atop a group of berries and leaves. And just below the twelve spoon holders is an embossed frieze of ivy leaves, dragonflies, birds and butterflies. Ornate and excessive, the piece is typical of the aesthetic movement. It measures 9 inches tall and 8 inches wide from handle to handle. In very good vintage condition with minor patina and surface scuffs consistent with age.
