Victorian Fancy Loop Link 42 Inch Long Chain. This beautiful heavy muff or lorgnette chain dates from the late Georgian or early Victorian era no longer has the original dog clip clasp. Instead, it has a spring ring clasp. Chains like this were worn by women of the mid-19th century to hold a watch, lorgnettes, fur muffs, lockets, or other pendants. The chain is 42" long and is approximately 5.1 mm in diameter. It weighs 38.3 grams and is finished with a spring ring clasp.
