Vintage 800 Silver Filigree and Turquoise Crescent Moon Star and Dangle Brooch. This ornate Ottoman style brooch is made of hand made filigree. The domed crescent moon is topped with a star set with a round cabochon of turquoise. The piece is further enhanced with five filigree dangles suspended on chains. The brooch measures approximately 2 1/4 inches X 1 5/8 inches and is finished with a curly C clasp and very long pin stem. I believe the piece dates from the 1920s, but it may be much older, as this type of jewelry has been produced for a very long time.
