Antique Gold Filled Victorian Albert Watch Chain with Double Rope Chains and Engraved Slide and Lockets. What an ornate example of a Victorian watch chain! The main portion of the piece is formed of two parallel rope chains with ornate end caps and slide, all of which are engraved, with a building in landscape on the front of the slide and fancy design on the reverse. This chain is terminated on one end with swivel dog clip and finished on the other end with a T bar and and a fob drop. The fob is a square locket with ornate curled frame. It is engraved with a landscape with home on front and floral motif on the reverse. The piece is in fair condition and seems to have been a much-loved piece that was worn regularly.

HALLMARKS/HISTORY: The clip is marked ALBRO. This is the mark for S. Albro & Company of Providence, RI, which was founded in 1880

MEASUREMENTS: Chain measures 11 1/2" long from clip to T bar and 5/16" across at slide. The locket measures 7/8" X 1 1/4".

WEIGHT: 22.7 grams

CONDITION: In Fair Vintage Condition, with finish wear associated with age, minor denting, some chain link loss at the clip end, wear to jump rings, and spring looseness of clip. Previously owned and worn.
