Antique Victorian Sash Brooch with Clover Leaves, Blossoms and Green Glass Stone. This antique Victorian sash pin features a fancy antiqued gold-tone stamped filigree panel with three leaf clover leaves, clover flowers, and lovely foliate curves, as well as beaded edge decoration. A slender oval-shaped Cabochon of apple green glass is set on a slight angle in a plain bezel. Victorians were obsessed with the "language of flowers" and clover leaves were thought to represent faith, hope and love. The clover blossom were believed to represent purity, protection, success, and prosperity.
Large brooches like this were often worn in place of belt buckles in the Victorian era. Imagine using it as the perfect accent on a scarf, a purse, or a hat. In very good antique condition, with very minor wear to the finish and no damage noted.
