Vintage 10K Black Star Sapphire Solitaire Ring. This 1960s ring has an oval cabochon natural black star sapphire set in a six prong basket mounting atop a tapered 10K yellow gold shank. The sapphire has diffuse asterism without a clear star. It is a size 6 1/4 and is in Very Good Vintage Condition, with minor wear consistent with age. It was a gift from a US service member serving abroad in the 1960s.

HALLMARKS/HISTORY: Unmarked, but tests as 10K

MEASUREMENTS: The head measures 10.75 mm wide and the shank tapers to 1.4 mm at the reverse of the shank.
