Expansion bracelets were popular gifts in the early part of the last century, continuing through WWII, and were typically given to girls or young women. This particular sweetheart bracelet has a heart locket decorated with engravings, as well Rose colored flowers and a hand engraved F. The reverse of the locket is engraved Dorothy I Clyde. This heart measures 3/4 X 3/4" and the bracelet itself is 1/2" wide. The locket opens and closes nicely, with tight snap and contains original photo of woman. Although this is a stretch bracelet, it is designed for a smaller wrist and measures 5 inches in circumference in resting position.

HALLMARKS/HISTORY: Carmen Made in U.S.A. 3 X 9. Carmen expansion bracelets were first patented by the D. F. Briggs Co of Attleboro, MA in 1901.
SIZE/MEASUREMENTS: 3/4 inch wide at the locket, 1/2 inch wide at the stretch portion, and 5" in inner diameter (wearable size).
CONDITION: Excellent Vintage Condition, with no damage noted. The bracelet is tight and has never been overstretched.
