Vintage 14K Yellow Gold Oval Ruby and Diamond Cluster Tapered Band Ring. Made in the 1980s, this ring features one prong set ruby atop a raised gallery and six round brilliant cut prong set accent diamonds. The ruby weighs approximately 1 Carat and the diamonds have a combined total weight of approximately .15 Carat. The ring measures 7 mm wide at the head, which stands 8 mm high. Shank tapers to 2.3 mm at the reverse. As you can see, the original owner had sizing beads added to the interior of the shank. These provide the room for a ring to fit over a slightly larger knuckle. The ring will fit over the typical size 5.5 knuckle, and will fit a size 4.75 finger. Your jeweler should be able to remove these beads if you choose. In very good vintage condition, with very minor surface scratches.
