Antique Victorian Sash Brooch with Filigree Detail and Purple Glass Stone. This antique Victorian sash pin has a center focal stone of purple glass with a cabochon top and faceted pavilion. The piece has openwork accented by twisted filigree and a border of repousse scrolls. It measures approximately 2 1/4 X 3 inches and is finished with a C clasp. In good antique condition, with some damage to the finish.
Large brooches like this were often worn in place of belt buckles in the Victorian era. Imagine using it as the perfect accent on a scarf, a purse, or a hat.
