Expansion bracelets were popular gifts in the early part of the last century, continuing through WWII, and were typically given to girls or young women. This particular sweetheart bracelet has a heart ornament set with a large oval faceted royal blue glass paste stone set in an embossed frame. This heart measures 3/4 X 3/4" and the bracelet itself is 1/2" wide.
Although this is a stretch bracelet, it is designed for a smaller wrist and measures 5 inches in circumference in resting position.

HALLMARKS/HISTORY: Stamped The D. F.B. Co. Carmen, Made in U.S.A. Carmen expansion bracelets were first patented by the D. F. Briggs Co of Attleboro, MA in 1901. This mark indicates the bracelet was made prior to 1922.
CONDITION: Excellent Vintage Condition, with no damage noted. The bracelet is tight and has never been overstretched.
SIZE/MEASUREMENTS: 3/4 inch wide at the heart ornament, 1/2 inch wide at the stretch portion, and 5" in inner diameter (wearable size).
